In 2014, the Carolina Panthers won the NFC South with a 7-8-1 record due to a depleted division. They became the 1st team to win the division two years in a row. Since they were division winners, they were awarded a home playoff game and since they faced an injury filled Arizona Cardinals team, they advanced to the Divisional Round where they would fall to the next eventual conference champion, Seattle Seahawks. Before the 2015 season began, the Panthers received some bad news, their number one receiver; Kelvin Benjamin tore his ACL in a joint practice and would miss the remained of the season. Hopes of winning season now relied on their captain, Cam Newton.
